Industrial Arts Teaching Position Goodhue Public Schools

Goodhue Public Schools is looking for a full time 7-12th grade Industrial Arts teacher starting at the beginning of the 2012-13 school year. Goodhue is a rural school district with a district population of just over 3,000 residents. The K-12 school population is 650 students. The average grade has around 50 students in it. This position is open as result of a retirement of an employee who has taught in the district for over 30 years. The district has made a commitment to the program with a department that is less than 10 years old. Teaching Assignments: 7 and 8th grade industrial arts, Woods 1 and Advanced Woods, Manufacturing, Principles of Technology (Supermileage Competition), Technology Exploration, CAD I and II, GOALS Future teaching assignments may change depending on the skill set brought to the position by the applicant. Technology including robotics and computer skills is a plus for the applicant. On average class size is very small. District Location: The district is located between the Twin Cities and Rochester Minnesota providing access to many social and cultural activities. District Enrollment: The district has a steady enrollment and has slightly grown over the past 5 years. District Leadership: The superintendent has worked in the district for 20 years. The High School principal has 5 years experience in the district. Co-Workers: In this position you are the only Industrial Arts teacher, however you are teaching with and sharing many of the same facilities with Lee Thompson. Lee is the 2011-12 Agricultural teacher of the year. Other Considerations: coaching is available, Football, Wrestling, Basketball, Theatre
