UNIVERSITY OF CAMBRIDGE INTERNATIONAL EXAMINATIONS Supplementary note to syllabus booklet for examination in 2007 and 2008

O LEVEL FIRST LANGUAGE URDU SYLLABUS 3247 PAPER 2: TEXTS PRESCRIBED TEXT IN SECTION 2: PROSE/SHORT STORIES FOR EXAMINATION IN 2007 and 2008

University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) has removed the requirement to study specific stories from the Pakistani Kahanian within its First Language Urdu syllabus. For the 2007 and 2008 syllabuses, we have provided an alternative set text (Dastak Na Do by Altaf Fatima). Pakistani Kahanian will not be assessed in 2008. CIE would like to make it clear that it does not publish Pakistani Kahanian. Please note that texts in the Poetry section remain the same as printed in the syllabus. The 2009 syllabus contains a new selection of prescribed texts.
