Rainfall Zonation to Predict Water Availability for Crops at Upstream Watershed of Wadaslintang Reservoir

Outline

STUDY AREA INTRODUCTION OBJECTIVE DATA AND METHOD

Study Area

Wadaslintang Reservoir

Wadaslintang Reservoir Located in Central Java, Java Island Indonesia

Study Area

Main Building

Area of Water Storage

The Reservoir was built in 1989 with a capacity of 443 million m3 and provide of water for various needs

INTRODUCTION

Study on monitoring and evaluation of watershed condition (Main Office of Serayu-Opak River Basin Development, 2009) show the watershed is in good condition (based on value of some parameter). The ratio of actual annual water yield and the reservoir capacity is 0.4 (Main Office of Serayu-Opak River Basin Development, 2009).

Water yield measurement done with rating curve (yudi, 2005), where the water availabilty determine by elevation of water surface on the reservoir (not consider annual sediment yield)

OBJECTIVE
This study aims to estimate the zoning patterns of rainfall and annual water availability

DATA AND METHOD

Preparation : Data availability (rainfall, map, climate)

Rainfall Zonation (Isohyet Method)

Prediction of Water Availability

Integration of rainfall zonation and prediction of water availability using GIS and Hydrological Model

METHOD
Rainfall Zonation

Isohyet Method

Rainfall zonation using Isohyet Method

METHOD
Hydrological Model for Prediction of Water Avaibility (Mock Model)
