TUNNEL CALL FOR POWER If you have a copy of THE TOSS ... it is mentioned in there as a WB blocking out on the DE ...

for most guys I would assume it to be the same ... We are a little different as we teach our TE and TACKLE that if they are basically going to block OUT if there is a man on their outside and noone on their inside ... we use it to combat teams that are lining up wide and 'pinching' while the interior guys are diving to stuff the WEDGE and/or TRAP ... This was a technique I saw a lot early in my DW years but not so much lately ... they would widen the DT and DE and crash hard with good angles from outside in ... then let the OLB and CORNER play the edge to stop SWEEP ... this left the middle appearing soft but they would just cut down my Center and Guards to keep plays from working very well inside ... it was effective for a while until we put in our TUNNEL call ... Then we were able to block out on those wider defenders and run right by the guys diving on the ground in a B to C gap area (depending on alignment) ...
