RE: Kemistry Lounge, 260 Flatbush Avenue, Brooklyn 11217 Dear Commissioner Greene and Chairman Rosen, I am writing to express my concerns regarding the Kemistry Lounge which will be submitting a liquor license application. On April 23, 2012, Community Board 6’s Public Safety/Environmental Protection/Permits/Licenses committee voted to not support this liquor license application. After several discussions between the Prospect Place Neighbors, the owners of Kemistry, and the North Flatbush Business Improvement District no final agreement could be reached regarding operations. The Prospect Place Neighbors are a coalition of residents who live on a residential block behind the proposed establishment. The two issues of special concern to me are: 1) Bottle service: Kemistry Lounge wishes to be the second establishment in Brooklyn to offer bottle service. Bottle service drastically increases patrons’ incentive to drink and promotes dangerous levels of drunkenness. 2) Closing times: This establishment abuts a quiet residential block and is located near two daycare centers. A set of reasonable closing times must be established.

I respectfully request that the SLA thoroughly review this application and take into consideration the comments and concerns submitted by the community board. Thank you very much for your attention to this matter.
