What are the different types of higher education?

There are public universities and institutes, that are taken care of by the Ministry of University Affairs. There are 21 public universities and 3 institutes.

Private universities and colleges are also taken care of by the Ministry of University Affairs as well. There are 23 private universities, and 18 private colleges.

There are also colleges, universities, and institutes that are run by other ministries.

What was the first university in Thailand?

The first university was made in 1916 by King Vajiravudh, who named it after his father. It has 26,400 people enrolled in it. The majority of universities in Thailand

The Thai monarchy plays a huge role in the higher education system. All students receive their degrees personally from the royal family.

His Majesty the King is an active scholar while his daughter, HRH princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn got a Ph.d in Thailand, also an active scholar, speaking many languages.
