The New Mexico Independent Party will be on the ballot for the Presidential Election in November, 2012. According to Marc Black, co-chair of the Central Committee of the NMIP, “The New Mexico Independent Party was formed in 2008. Its original goal was to provide ballot access for the Nader/Gonzalez campaign. The Independents received more than 1% of the vote during that election cycle thereby qualifying for a place on the New Mexico ballot.” On Saturday, May 12 at 10:00 A.M. all people interested in the NMIP will be meeting at LaTienda at Eldorado in Santa Fe. The meeting is open to all eligible voters but to participate in the decision making process, they have to be registered as NMIP. Marc Black says, “A certified registrar will be on hand so people can re register on the spot.” The entire meeting should last about one hour according to Black, “The basic agenda is: Establish a quorum. Elect officers. Certify existing bylaws. Propose and approve motion to change the name from NMIP to Justice Party. Make plans for a state nominating convention. Adjourn.” 54% of Americans are seeking a third political party. Many voters are tired of the Republican and Democratic duopoly which is funded by corporations and the top 1%. The New Mexico Independent Party seeks to give voters a new choice. FOR INFORMATION CONTACT: Marc Black harbinger88@gmail.com (505) 982-3928
