, renewable Eurochild Secretary General Eurochild Secretariat, Brussels September 2011
Deadline for applications: 20 June 2011
We are looking for a dynamic individual with a strong interest and commitment to the promotion and protection of children’s rights in Europe. You will be a skillful negotiator, with highly articulate written and spoke English, and an intimate knowledge of EU policy making, preferably with direct experience of working with or for European Parliamentarians and/or Commission officials. You will thrive in a small international team and will respond to competing demands on your time with good sense and good humour. You will be responsible for leading Eurochild’s work on children in alternative care, deinstitutionalisation and EU structural funds. Knowledge and experience in child protection issues, particularly within Central and Eastern Europe, is therefore an asset. However, a more important skill is your ability to draw upon and promote the wealth of experience from within the Eurochild network. This position is supported by Hope and Homes for Children UK for a period of one year with the possibility of renewal. The successful candidate will be accountable to the Eurochild Secretary General and will work closely with the advisory group that supports Eurochild’s thematic working group on children in alternative care. Download the application form and job description here. CVs and applications sent by post will not be considered.
