CROSMAN INTRODUCES NEW MARLIN COWBOY LEVER-ACTION BB AIR RIFLE ROCHESTER, New York, (January 16, 2010) Crosman Corporation, long known for innovation and quality in products for the shooting sports, has introduced the new Marlin Lever Action BB air rifle, just in time for Marlins 140th anniversary. Licensed by Remington, Crosman serves as Marlins and Remingtons official licensee for airgun products. According to Marlin Director of Accessories and Licensing, E. Scott Lester, The authenticity of this air rifle is a result of the successful partnership between Marlin and Crosman. The excitement of the old west has never lost its appeal, said Lester. The new Marlin Cowboy Lever Action captures that magic and were particularly pleased with just how real the look and feel of this new rifle truly is, he said. Crosman product manager, Jim Masseth said, the new lever action is Styled for shooters who appreciate the nostalgia of old-west cowboy action shooter guns. The Marlin Cowboy is classic in appearance, says Masseth. Sized for youngsters, this BB air rifle is ideal for entry level shooters. Since new airgun enthusiasts often begin their lifetime of shooting using air rifles, this gun has safety features, including an innovative spur-like, ratchet system on the cocking mechanism. The last thing you want a new shooter to experience is bothersome lever snapback. Snapback can pinch small hands, a problem on some other models and not something you want as part of a first shooting experience, Masseth said. This dependable, lightweight gun is a practical pick for helping youngsters develop lifelong shooting, marksmanship skills and teaching safety. Featuring a maximum velocity of 350 fps, its ideal for plinking and target shooting. The Marlin Cowboy features a stamped, all-metal receiver and a finely finished hardwood stock and forearm. The classic looking BB air rifle comes with a front blade sight and an adjustable, notched rear sight. The reservoir holds up to 700 BBs, allowing for more shooting and less time re-loading. It features an engraved logo and blued barrel, adding to its authenticity. The new Marlin Cowboy Lever Action air rifle will be unveiled at SHOT Show 2010, in Las Vegas and will be available at retail in March, 2010. It will retail for $60.00.
