Senate Democratic Conference Urges Action on the 2012 Campaign Finance Reform Act
(Albany, NY) Answering the public’s call to further regulate campaign finance in New York State, the Senate Democratic Conference will hold a press conference urging action on the 2012 Campaign Finance Reform Act on Tuesday, May 1st, at 1:00 pm in the Minority Conference Room. Senate Democrats and Good Government Groups plan to discuss Senator Eric Adams’ bill (S.3584A), enacting the 2012 Campaign Finance Reform Act which would provide a comprehensive yet balanced approach to the public financing of political campaigns in New York State. Specifically, the bill would move to strike a balance that allows challengers and incumbents to compete fairly while capping the amount of public funds that will be expended.
