McKool ELD 308 Literacy Autobiography Ever since I was a little girl I always remember my mom reading every night. She would be in bed with her cup of tea, and she would read. This was her favorite time of the day, and every night I would crawl up in her bed between my parents. I would drink tea, just like her, and either she would read to me or I would read my own story. Whenever I read my own story I always read either “Baby Blue Cat and the Whole Batch of Cookies” by Ainslie Pryor or “The Runaway Bunny” by Margaret Wise. These were my two favorite stories when I was a little girl, and to this day I still have the original copies that I used to always read. Since I saw how much my mom enjoyed reading, I wanted to see what I was missing. Even though I often read the same stories every night when I was younger, I was still reading every day. As I got older I started reading more and more. I began reading chapter books and novels every night. Since I was reading everyday I really began to love the hobby. My mom instilled the love of reading in me, and I continue to enjoy reading as much as I did in when I was little girl drinking tea and reading in my mom. The connection and bond that we formed through our readings allowed my love for reading to continue as I got older.
