Eco Tip: Green Gardening!

Spring is here, and many of us are probably thinking about starting up our gardens (if it doesn’t snow again!) Here are some green gardening tips to help start off the gardening season on an ecoconscious foot.

Be water-wise 50% of landscape water is lost to wind, evaporation, and overwatering. By watering early in the morning, you can maximize water efficiency. Plant pollinators Plants that attract animal and insect pollinators benefit everyone's garden, not just your own! Make your own dirt! Starting your own compost at home is really easy – just start with equal parts brown (soil), green (plant matter), and a little blue (water), in a designated area of your garden. Start inside For those of us who do not have outdoor gardens, balcony gardens or windowsill planters are great alternatives.
