Here is my train of thought for this problem: A physics girl pushes a 45 kg girl in a straight line on a skateboard to demonstrate forces. The force that the student experiences is given by the force versus position graph shown here. If the student starts at rest at x = 0, how fast will she be going when she reaces x = 4m?

Use Work-Energy theorem:

1 mv 2 = 2


1 (45) v 2 2 v2 v

= .8889 = .94

The correct answer is .889 but I don’t know the reason. Why is that? What did I do wrong?
