Chorus/Choir Types: • Mixed choirs (i.e., with male and female voices). • Male choirs • Female choirs • Children's choirs (all treble voices) Chorus voice types: • Soprano = Highest female voice (can be sung by male in all-male groups) • Alto = Lowest female voice (can be sung by male in all-male groups) • Tenor = Highest male voice • Baritone = Middle male voice • Bass = Lowest male voice Types of accompaniment: • A Cappella = voices only, no instruments • Piano • String Orchestra = a large group of string instruments • Full Orchestra = a large group of instruments including strings, brass, woodwinds, percussion, and possibly more
Accompaniment = In music, accompaniment is the art of playing along with a soloist or ensemble in a supporting manner.
