Archdiocese of Jaro VICARIATE OF SAINT PETER YOUTH MINISTRY

Iloilo City

RH BILL STATEMENT
We, the youth ministers of the Vicariate of Saint Peter, coming from the 12 Parishes therein of the Archdiocese of Jaro, firmly believe that:

God, infinitely perfect and blessed in Himself, in a plan of sheer goodness freely created man to make him share in His own blessed life… He invites men and women to become, in the Holy Spirit, His adopted children and thus heirs of His blessed life (Catechism of the Catholic Church, no.1).

Hence, life is a gift that should be treated with highest respect and value from the moment of conception until death.

Every child is a gift and not a disease to be avoided, prevented or to be destroyed by any means. The family which is the foundation of society and community has the responsibility to uphold the sacredness of life, sex and marriage.

The Reproductive Health Bill is divisive in nature that will lead to the dissolution and division of families and family values. It is not a Catholic issue or a matter of economic policy. It is a moral issue that attacks the dignity of human life and threatens marriage and family life.

The Reproductive Health Bill, which advocates contraceptive agents and devices, is not the solution to poverty and population problem of the country. Rather, it is values

orientation and education among our people especially the youth which should start in the family and in the neighborhood.

We want to see our children and future generations having a strong sense of morality because of their respect and value to human life and dignity. We cannot afford to gamble our future.

Therefore, we are united in saying that:

YES TO LIFE, NO TO REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH BILL!
