Killer of Jonathan Carey Denied Parole
Edwin Tirado, the killer of Jonathan Carey, who had autism and was only 13, will remain in jail.
“Thankfully justice was served by the parole board denying the release of Edwin Tirado from State prison. As Jonathan’s State caregiver Tirado was supposed to protect and care for my precious son Jonathan -not brutally kill him. Edwin Tirado already escaped with a light sentence of 5 to15 years for killing Jonathan who was an innocent child and extremely vulnerable because of his disabilities”. “Jonathan is tremendously missed every day. I could not be prouder of Jonathan, all that he needlessly suffered in the three short years living in residential care will help hundreds of thousands of other people with disabilities. It is Jonathan who is the catalyst for reforming New York States extremely dangerous mental health care system which is riddled with rampant abuse and neglect. Jonathan’s Law was the first of many laws to help better protect all individuals with disabilities in New York State”. Michael Carey-Jonathan’s father

Jonathan lived at OD Heck Developmental Center when he was tragically killed on February 15, 2007. For More info call: 518-852-9377
