PLEASE VOTE FOR CLLR NICKI BROOKS TO BE YOUR ALC REPRESENTATIVE ON THE NATIONAL POLICY FORUM

Cllr Nicki Brooks
Gedling Borough Council
Membership number: B043043

Please vote for me to be your voice on the National Policy Forum. I am standing for election to the NPF as one of your Association of Labour Councillors’ representatives. I believe good communication with all elements of the party is vital for its future success and that feedback should shape party policy decisions. Our Party is going through a crucial period of review and re-organisation and I believe the ALC has a lot to offer during this process to help Labour become a more robust and effective political voice. Whilst Labour is not in power nationally, many Local Authorities around the country are under Labour control, including my own. These Groups have a great deal to offer the NPF in terms of experience and policy implementation. I believe that the NPF is a vital body and the ALC should have strong representation on it. I would welcome suggestions or ideas to be put forward on behalf of all Labour Groups, would report back on a regular basis and would willingly meet with any Labour Group to ensure their voice is heard. I was elected as a Gedling Borough Councillor in May 2011 where I hold the position of Chief Whip. I am an active member of the Labour party, Vice-Chair of Gedling CLP and member of the campaign team. You can contact me at any time on nicki-brooks@hotmail.co.uk or by telephone on 07967 096 477. All Labour Councillors can vote for up to 4 NPF candidates. Please look out for the ballot paper in the voting pack and, please, give me the opportunity to represent you on the National Policy Forum. Best wishes
