Healtb Ministry May is National Osteoporosis Awareness and Prevention Month. Osteoporosis is a major public health threat for an estimated 44 million Americans. Ten million Americans currently live with the disease and nearly 34 million are estimated to have low bone density. Osteoporosis causes an estimated two million fractures each year and can result in immobility. pain, and other health problems. These conditions and circumstances can largely be prevented through proper prevention. diagnosis and treatment. All Americans need to understand their risk factors and learn how to prevent the disease and then take action. This means striving to get enough calcium vitamin D and bone healthy exercise every day and talking to your doctor about when to get a bone density test. This is often considered a pediatric disease with geriatric conseqaences. About 85·90 percent of adult bone mass is acquired by age 18 in girls and 20 in boys. It is never too early or too late to take steps to improve bone health which is why parents and grandparents are encouraged to have a conversation with their children. For info visit the National Osteoporosis Foundation at www.nof.org or call 1·800·231-4222. Position Available: Coordinator ofYoutb Ministry Position available. Send a cover letter with resume including education, previous experience personal and professional references to Fr. Gilbert M. Diaz, Pastor St. Stephen Church, 7111 Lee Highway, Chatt, TN 37421 Forming Good Stewards It is fitting on this Pentecost Sunday that the Scripture passages speak of the works of the holy spirit in the early Christian community, as described in the Acts of the Apostles. and still present to us today. In St. Jon' S Gospel Jesus gives His disciples the gifts of the Spirit, peace, and the power to forgive sins. In this First Letter to the Corinthians, St. Paul encourages the faithful to live in unity and to appreciate each member's gifts, service and works granted to them by the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as one body in Christ. As Christian stewards what do we bring weekly to the Eucharistic table through our God given gifts of time, talent, and treasure to build up our parish communion to build up the body of Christ?

An option for Stewardship
Hello, Beth Cromer here. I lead the Church Cleaning Ministry. We have 6 teams of 3 to 5 people that clean every Saturday morning at 9 AM. We need to change this to 6 teams of 5 to 6 people strong and a list of alternates to fill in when needed. That's 1 hour of your time every 6th Saturday Morning ... a drop in the bucket. Please consider joining us and if you do give Pam in the church office a call with your name and number and I'll be in touch. At the very least remember the 5th thing you learned in Kindergarten "Clean up your own mess". Take a look around before you leave and pick up that Kleenex or Cheerios or drink box. Thanks and we look forward to hearing from you soon.
