Washington Tapia spends about 100 days every year scouring the Galapagos Islands for locations to reintroduce endangered tortoises into the wild.

e Galapagos National Park works with endemic tortoises under three main stages of work: breeding, reintroduction and monitoring. Since the beginning of the Captive Breeding Program, 7,000 baby tortoises have been released into the wild.

e sea lion rookery on Floreana island is one of the many beautiful beaches the island has to o er. Known for good snorkeling, the site is just a short walk from the town.
