PALACE THEATRE APPOINTS INTERIM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Alan Goldberg, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Palace Theatre, announced today that Kevin Carlon has resigned his position as Executive Director and that Holly Brown, the Palace’s General Manager, will step into the position of Interim Executive Director. Goldberg stated, “Kevin informed us that he will be resigning his position, and we wish him well.” Goldberg also noted that, “The Palace is on a wonderful track. During the past year, the number of performances presented at the theatre has doubled, bringing more patrons into a revitalized downtown Albany area.” In fact, earlier this spring, Downtown experienced a surge of nearly 9,000 Palace-goers in one week alone when the venue hosted three separate sold-out concerts within a four-day period. Major renovations to the building are underway with repairs to the heating system and the installation of a new cooling system that will achieve significant energy efficiencies. Prior to joining the Palace, Brown was the Director of Marketing and Communications for Ruth Eckerd Hall, a 2,180-seat venue, the Capitol Theatre, a 400-seat historic theatre and the Hall’s Hoffman Institute for the Performing Arts in Clearwater, Florida. Brown has also held positions at a variety of entertainment and performing arts organizations that include the St. Pete Times Forum arena, Asolo Theatre Festival, in Sarasota, Florida; Parson Advertising Agency in Stratford, Ontario and Tampa, Florida; the Orlando Shakespeare Festival and the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center. She attended the University of South Florida, Tampa where she obtained a B.A., Mass Communications, Advertising and a Minor, Fine Arts.
