ACTIVE: How was working on this album different than your previous ones, and how do you feel you’ve evolved as an artist? TECh N9NE: Every album I do is different from the last because I try to make it bigger and better every time. When I put out KlusterFunk, I wanted it to be all live instrumentation, so I had Mayday do it! It’s not anything like my past material because it’s not weight-driven. I was worried about what the fans would think, but the loved it! I’m working on an album right now that will drop in October, and the beats are HUMONGOUS! It’s going to be bigger than all the albums.

TECh N9NE: The late, great Roger Troutman of Zapp. We redid a song called “Twisted” in 2001, which was one of my favorite songs as a youngster.
