In celebration of the 100th day of school (Thursday, February 9th, if we have no snow days!), we will be having a 100th day celebration during math. The day will feature many fun counting activities. One activity we are going to complete is making a “100th Day Trail Mix” using 100 small pieces of food. If you are able to donate a goody for our trail mix, it would greatly be appreciated! We need 140 pieces of each item (14 students x 10 items/child), Ideas for items include (but are not limited to): goldfish crackers, popcorn, Chex cereal, fruit snacks, animal crackers, mini marshmallows, M&M’s, mini pretzels, raisins, butterscotch chips, Apple Jacks, etc. Please send items to school with your student by Wednesday, February 8th. ________________________________________________________ We will also be sharing “100th Day Collections” during our morning meeting. Over the next week, please have your student collect 100 pieces of a household item. A ziplock baggie has been attached to this sheet to hold your collection. Ideas for items: beads, paper clips, grains of rice, cereal, candy, dry beans, stickers, q-tips, toothpicks, puzzle pieces, popcorn kernels, rubber bands, small seashells, feathers, pieces of macaroni, Smarties Candies, etc. We would like to display the collections in the hallway, so please do not send anything perishable! Please send items to school with your student by Wednesday, February 8th.
