Intelligencer welcomes Nicole Kleinsteuber on board as our summer intern. Born in Belleville, she grew up, she says proudly, as “a County girl in Cherry Valley.” A graduate of Prince Edward Collegiate Institute in 1999 “with a passion for journalism,” Nicole worked on the school newspaper at PECI, as well as serving as a co-op student at The County Guide. She graduated from the advanced journalism program for online, print and broadcast fields at Loyalist College and was a recipient of Dean's List and the Orland French Investigative Journalism awards. Nicole has freelanced for The County Weekly News, Countylive and reported for CJOJ while at Loyalist, as well as having service a six-week internship with CBC TV and Radio in Toronto. With interests in political issues, social justice and environmental writing, Nicole will be given a broad spectrum of work experience in her months at The Intelligencer. “We certainly had some high-calibre students interested in our summer intern program and we are most pleased to welcome someone with the abilities, skill and enthusiasm as Nicole brings,” said managing editor Bill Glisky. Nicole can be reached at 613-962-9171 Ext 206 or Attention: N. Kleinsteuber.
