COMPLEX INSTRUCTION SET COMPUTER (CISC

)
This is a type of computer architecture in which central processing unit (CPU) supports hundreds of instructions.  Single operation of CISC can contain several operations (executions) such as,  load data from memory  Arithmetic operation  Memory storage or In general it can operate multiple step operation in a single instruction through addressing mode. CISC architecture provides a higher level of throughput at lower memory using easily programmable high-level language according to the designed hardware.

CISC CONT…….
 CISC designs architecture provides a large number of addressing modes in order
 To support complex data structures and

 To provide flexibility to access operands.

 Problems caused by CISC ,

 it causes variable instruction execution times, depending on the location of the operands.

TYPES OF ADDRESSING MODE IN CISC
Immediate addressing mode Direct addressing mode Indirect addressing mode Register addressing mode Register indirect addressing mode Displacement addressing mode Stack addressing mode

ADDRESSING MODE
Addressing modes are an aspect of the instruction set architecture in most central processing unit (CPU) designs. The various addressing modes that are defined in a given instruction set architecture define how machine language instructions in that architecture identify the operand.

CPU COMPONENTS
 C PU is the brain of a computer  It Controls all operations and program execution  CPU consists of four components which are,
 Control units; controls all operations  Arithmetic and Logic Unit; it performs all mathematical operation  Register; deals with internal storage  CPU Interconnection; provides communication
