Pomegrate Processing Fresh Cut Juice

Introduction
 

Pomegranate with scientific name of (Punica granatum L.; Punicaceae) Its pulp is produced in huge amounts in many parts of the world ; production of this by- product exceeds 120,000 t/year. The pomegranate pulp by- product consists mainly of peels, stems, and seeds and accounts for about 400-450 g/kg of the weight of the Pomegranate processed into sauce, concentrate and juice



Reception
Fresh pomegranate are recieved from the contract famers

Pomegranates are fed to the plant from the outside concrete tank or direclty from cases or bags

Washing

Disinfection is also done at this stage Due to huge quantity pomegranate are washed by immersion

Sorting

Size sorting is done by machine

Quality sorting notably for decayed and affected products manual sorting is done

Desheling
The shell and grains are mechanically separated

Drying

Grains are relatively dried by air before packaging

Filling and weighing

The weighing take place and the packages are filled in

Sealing

The packages are sealed to prevent further drying and contramination

Final packages product

The product should be packaged in bright and perforated packs

Reception

Fresh  Pomegranates  are  fed  to  the  plant  from  the  outside  concrete   tank  or  directly  from  cases  or  bags.

Membrane press

This  improves  the  juice  quality  substanAally  as  the  product  has  a   strongly  reduced  contaminaAon  with  tannin  and  seed  fragments.  

The  squeezing  system  we  supply  is  a  membrane  press,  which  has  the   big  advantage  of  providing  a  very  so?  pressing.

Filtration
AddiAonal  clarificaAon  can  be  achieved  by  a  plate  filter.  

The  colloidal  and  mucilaginous  substances  in  the  pomegranate  juice   are  taken  out  by  vacuum  rotaAng  filters  with  Kieselguhr  pre-­‐coat.  

As  alternaAve  to  the  vacuum  filter  ultrafiltraAon  can  be  used.

Concentration
