Coach Capped
Being a coach is privilege, but there are a few challenges that need to be addressed: 1. CAP on income ~ like many professions, coaches earn by the hour and so this limits their income. 2. CAP on markets ~ Some markets are less lucrative than others ~ so the people you have a passion for coaching, may not be able to afford your service. Also some markets are small or hard to reach. 3. CAP on marketing ~ While you are working, you are not selling and making new work for the weeks and months ahead.
Coach Uncapped
Here are solutions that in our experience work well: 1. UNCAPPED income ~ offer multiplier services like group coaching and training to your offerings. Here your hourly income is multiplied by the numbers you can serve in that hour. E.g. R350 x 10 people = R3,500 for 2 hours, versus R650 (1 person) for 1 hour. 2. UNCAPPED markets ~ have at least 3 niche markets, so that if 1 dips the others can catch you. 3. UNCAPPED marketing ~ Use online platforms (like we have taught you) to market while you sleep, and cross sell - coaching naturally sells training and training naturally sells coaching.
Trainer Nightmares
Trying to grow a training business or be a successful freelance trainer can be a nightmare. Here are the most common reasons trainers struggle: 1. Selling blues ~ So some really talented trainers just cant get work because they dont know how to get others to see the value of what they are offering. 2. Ignorance is not bliss ~ Some trainers just really dont have the experience or training to know how to get out there and deliver rave-review winning training. 3. Cast in stone courses ~ whether they write their own training courses or get licensed to train other peoples work, most courses are rigid, with fixed titles, fixed content and fixed structures. This makes them very difficult to sell and specifically meet client needs. 4. Cost killers ~ the time and costs to develop a training business adds up fast: graphic designing fees for branding, creating courseware, web designing fees for websites, etc. Trainers also spend money and tons of time developing and then realize they have to change what they created or develop new courseware material for each new client. 5. Slow ~ It takes time to build credibility and to gain respect in any industry.
