AT&T Donates 250 Calling Cards, Helps Local Families Prep Care Packages for Soldiers Serving Overseas
WHAT: AT&T will join Southborough residents to prepare and pack 30 care packages that will be sent to soldiers serving in the military overseas. The care packages will include 250 calling cards donated today by AT&T, to help families stay connected during deployments. Southborough residents John and Leslie Kendall will be on-hand to talk about their daughter U.S. Army Special Forces 2nd Lieutenant Kerry E. Kendall who is serving in Afghanistan and will receive one of the care packages. The care packages are just one way AT&T is supporting active-duty military members and veterans returning home. Unemployment is a critical issue for soldiers returning home from the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, and thats why AT&T is actively recruiting vets to join the company, including here in Massachusetts, where AT&T has 50 current job openings. More information and resources for vets is available at www.att.job/military. WHO: Lisa and Matthew Braccio, of Southborough, organizers of care packages Leslie and John Kendall, of Southborough, parents of Special Forces soldier Kerry Kendall, who is currently serving with the U.S. Army in Afghanistan Patricia Jacobs, president of AT&T New England Southborough Senior Center 9 Cordaville Road Southborough, MA 01772 Monday, June 25, 2012 10:00 a.m. ###
