Stormy With Brief Periods of Calm

By Elton Camp Experience has taught me far too well So like an expert, the weather I can tell The temperature has been rising for years That it will only accelerate, arousing fears Mild to severe storms occur more and more Making my life mostly something to abhor Occasionally it is pleasant for a brief spell That it won’t last long, I certainly can tell The weather pulls this sneaky little trick From nice to bad, it goes extremely quick A tornado plunges with fury from the sky To duck and cover is what I’d better try A hurricane comes and for days will rage To get out of its way is advice most sage When thunder begins to rumble and roar I know lightning may strike as it has before Coming weather I am well able to predict But can do nothing about how it will affict

I know what’s coming but can do nothing about it
