A Poem

It was a cold, cold, night,

It gave me a fright,
Chill in the air,
Not a care.

Gloves too small,

Fingers cold,
Wind at my face,
Backside cold.

Snow in the air,

A foot or more,
A snow shovel soon,
On the floor.

The Wind did howl,

I cried foul,
Nary a care,
Winter’s snare

Snow drifts tall,

Footprints small,
A faint smile,
For awhile.

Walk I did,
From time to past,
Christmas soon,
No more fast.

Crunch under foot,

No more soot,
Presents for me,
Nativity.
