Course Description Intensive Islamic History Seminar is a seminar designed to expose students to some of the important events that have transpired in Islamic history which have had far reaching effects on Muslims both past and present such as the conquest of Persia, the murders of Uthman ibn Affan and ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib. The course has been designed along a “timeline continuum’ of important dates and events which should lead to a broad yet interesting discussion of the events that comprise what is called “Islamic History”. Student Learning Objectives/Outcomes: At the conclusion of the Intensive Islamic History Seminar, students should have a better grasp of important personages, dates and events of Islamic History and there past and current impact on Islam and Muslims today and the contributions of Muslims and Islam to Civilization as a whole. Required Course Materials Students are required to have writing utensils and notebooks to take notes. Instructor
