INTRODUCTION This document describes the sequence of steps in software update procedure for LCE based products and substitutes previously issued documents 824236, 824237, 824238 and 849945. The references throughout the document are made to the Marketing names of the control systems and associated drives and/or drive interface: • KCM831 with V3F25 or V3F25 MLB drive (MR and MRL) • KCM831 with V3F16 drive (EcoSpace) • KCM831 with LCEDRV drive interface (Hydro) • KCP931 with DCBH drive interface and KDH drive (MR) • ReSolve 20 with LCEDRV drive interface and V3F10 drive • ReSolve 100 with MCU drive interface and AC or DC drive WARNING: GROUP ELEVATORS

The hall push button riser will not work from the time the elevator with the push buttons connected to its FeBs is powered up with the new software until a setup drive has been completed. If the group has two or more push button risers, functionality of the hall buttons will be lost on the riser connected to that car which is being upgraded. The Hall push buttons will remain functional on the other riser(s).

1. While upgrading cars in the group, after each upgrade put car on random calls until all group is upgraded. 2. Identify the elevator in the group that has the hall push buttons wired to its FCBs. 3. Update the software in that elevator last. Update all other elevators in the group first. 4. Arrange an appropriate time to update the software in the elevator with the hall riser. Remember you will lose the hall push buttons until the setup drive is complete on that elevator. If the group has two or more push button risers, tag the riser that is connected to the elevator being upgraded as "out of service" while upgrading software on that elevator. Remove the "out of service" tag once the upgrade is complete. 1. BEFORE INSTALLING THE NEW SOFTWARE 1. Ensure that the LCE SW version you about to install is compatible with SW and HW version of other components in the system. Refer to Appendix E on page 11. 2. Record the value of each of the parameters listed in paragraphs 3 and 9. You will use this information to reprogram each of the parameters after installing the new software. Fill out tables provided in Appendix Band C. If it is not possible to record the parameter values due to CPU failure or EPROM failure, use the descriptions accompanying each parameter and the LCE UI Menu to help you set the correct values. 3. In addition, record parameters in Menu 3, Sub-menu 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 for PI display and Floor Announcement Messages for each floor. Use table provided in Appendix A. 4. Inhibit doors and Landing Calls by sliding switches 261 and 263 left. 5. Run the elevator to the bottom floor and allow it to land floor level. 6. Put the elevator on Machine Room Inspection and power down the elevator
