Course Description:

The Continuity of Operations (COOP) Planners Course is to provide COOP training for Program Managers at the federal, state, local, and tribal levels of government. This course is designed to provide the skills and knowledge to further develop and improve the overall quality and workability of COOP Plans. The previous COOP Planners Course has been revised.
Prerequisites:

IS-547.a Introduction to Continuity of Operations (COOP) and IS548 or L548 Continuity of Operations (COOP) Program Managers Train-the-Trainer (TTT).
Target Audience:

Course is for federal, state, local, private and tribal employees responsible for managing Continuity of Operations Program.

Funding:

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to: Correctly recognize the background and policy regarding continuity that affects development of continuity plans for reference in plan development. Develop a strategy to create a continuity plan using available requirements, guidance, and tools. Recognize and incorporate all the key elements of a viable continuity capability, as found in the NCPIP, FCD 1 and 2, and CGC 1 and 2, into an outline for your continuity plan. Explain the four phases of continuity and relate their application to the continuity planning process in your organization. Recognize factors that affect plan maintenance and distribution strategies based upon factors identified through best practices, requirements, and guidance.
