Music Video Concept/Treatment Proposal August 2012

Since Rihanna’s Where Have You Been is a techno dance song which blends elements of Rock and Ballad (RNB), hip-hop and house together, the music video will be bold and fierce. The video’s concept shows that GirlTalent(Rihanna) travels various locations looking for someone who can please her. The video begins with the Girl talent holding a man which appears to be a silhouette set in a dark area. Close up shot the woman’s face for the intro. The image of the two will be distorted and beats like the music. The distortion of the video is an effect of a flashback. The talent will be transported to a dark crowded place where people are dancing probably a bar like set-up (long shots of dancing in the techno part and CU of talent). Talent roams around searching for someone whom she can’t find. The group started dancing to the beat so as the talent on the Hook part and the beat break. Flashing cut of the talent submerging into the pool and (dissolve) she emerges in a beach. For Hook 2 and Beat Break 2, talent and the dancers choreographs in a rocky beach area. Bridge – (Long shot of a cave) Talent will sing lying on the cave’s sand floor (You can have me all you want/Any way, any day/To show me where you are tonight). She’ll stand (Cut) Outro - She will be wearing green and will be waiting on a tree branch close to ground for safety purposes and as a man comes to her (the guy is the same in the intro).

Treatment: 1. The identity of the man in silhouette will not be revealed for he is a representation of God whom the girl met in a retreat with nature. In the beginning of the video, she is communicating with Him and there comes a flashback of why and where he found what she’s searching for. 2. These are locations for the scenes of the music video: a.) Residencia Reigo Resort (night effect); b.) b) Sampaguita, Bauan cave facing the ocean; c.) Beaches adjacent to Lover’s Island and Aguila beach resort in Anilao Mabini, Batangas – the rocks in the vicinity will add effect to the video. d.) PPA - this will be a great set up for the dancing in the rain part. 3. The multiple wardrobes of the talent and the dancers will be bold with glitterfied effects in the cloth and including their makeup. 4. If possible, depending upon availability and budget constraints, a car with strobe light effects will be used in the Hook and Beat break parts as a background for a better effect. Furthermore, this set up will be more dramatic with rain because the water on the streets. The dancers will splash and stamp that rain water. 5. The dancers and the choreographers of the video are the CBA dancers. The search for the Rihanna interpreter in this Where Have You Been music video is on!
