UNIT # 6: Reading lessons UNIT AIMS: To develop the exercises in the reading book to understand each legend. NUMBER OF LESSONS IN THIS UNIT: 5 NUMBER OF WEEKLY LESSONS: 5 (1 - 5) DATE: Monday, May 7th 2012 LESSON AIMS: Lesson 1: To study the structures: will, won't, could and couldn't. Lesson 2: To develop the exercises in the book. Lesson 3: To read the legend "The sea fairy" Lesson 4: To develop the exercises in the book. Lesson 5: To do some reading exercises in the notebook. ACTIVITIES: RESOURCES: Lesson 1: Reading notebook 1.) The teacher explains the structures: I Reading book think, I will, I won't, I could, I could not. Dictionary Students copy this in their reading notebooks. 2.) Students give their own examples. 3.) Students open their book on page 63 and developed the activity. 4.) Answers are checked in the class. Lesson 2: 1.) Students use the dictionary to write the meaning of the words on page 64. Give them the English meaning too. 2.) Students have to write a sentence with each word in their notebooks. Check students are working correctly. 3.) Students draw a picture which expresses the main idea of the legend. 4.) Give them the vocabulary of the following reading: "The sea fairy". 5.) Students check the meaning of the words. Lesson 3: 1.) Check students' answers and ask them to underline the words checked. 2.) Ask students to say what they think the story is about. 3.) Point different students to read the text and check students' pronunciation. 4.) Read the story with the whole class. 5.) Listen to students' opinion about the reading. 6.) Computing activities Lesson 4. 1.) Remind them the reading, and ask them to

open their book on page 70 and to do the proposed activity. 2.) Students do the activity of page 71 with teacher's help, make sure they work correctly. 3.) Students write sentences with the words they checked in their notebooks. 4.) Ask students to form a group and to write a comment about the story. 5.) Students read their comments for the whole class. Lesson 5: 1.) Give some singular sentences to students and ask them to change them into plural. 2.) Give them a paragraph to complete in the text. 3.) Make students match the sentences. 4.) Read a story and dictate them some questions so they understand and can answer. 5.) Check students' answers.
