Their 51 Anniversary was celebrated by Doug & Ann Damaschino with a nice trip to Southern California! Gary Irwin, in absentia, came up with a very high 5 for the great job Rob & Joan McSpadden did in organizing the Golf Tournament and Barbecue. An enjoyable vacation has been enjoyed by Debbie & Lou Roessler in Sandpoint, Idaho. A spin of the wheel netted $10. Al & Marilyn Simonsen had an outing in Branson, Missouri and enjoyed all of the great shows! It was worth a spin for $10. However, Al recouped his fine when he was the winner of the red ticket drawing and pulled out the white marble for $182. Atta way to go! Nora Avelar made a commitment for a month of yoga classes. She had a happy buck for her first 6 days. Watch for later reports!

THIS WEEKS PROGRAMS

Today we heard about a very worthy International Service project initiated within our District Kenya Smiles, a dental preventive care and educational program. Telling the story were Sheila Hurst of Redding, whose experiences in Kenya initiated the project, and District Governor Laura Day of San Ramon. The program, described with attractive and clear photographs, involves a comprehensive public health and dental care activity in the heart of Africa. One of the features of the program is sending back packs to children in Kenya with dental products, such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, informational literature on dental care, a portable cup, and items donated by several dental organizations. The colorful and useful back packs cost $10 and each contribution will be matched by The Rotary Foundation for greater leverage and expansion. The donors name is included in each back-pack sent to Kenya. There will be a vocational team of Dentists coming from Kenya to our District and then an exchange team to Kenya to promote training, awareness, dental care and

Never underestimate the power of a kind word, good deed or a random act of kindness to make those troubles fade in comparison in the big scope of things!
