Understanding the Personal Interview
Project Description:

In this project, you work with a document prepared for managers involved in the hiring process. This report analyzes the validity of the interview process and suggests that selection doesn’t depend only on quality information, but on the quality of the interpretation of information. The document requires formatting to enhance readability and important information; you will use skills from this chapter to format multiple levels of headings and figures. To make it easy for readers to locate topics in your document, create and use various supplemental document components such as a table of contents and index.
Instructions: For the purpose of grading the project you are required to perform the following tasks:
Step 1 2 Instructions Start Word. Open the downloaded Word file named Exploring_w02_Grader_EOC.docx. Create a paragraph style named Title_Page_2 based on the style Title_Page_1. Format the new style with a 20 pt font size. Apply the new style to the subtitle in the document, A Study for Managers Involved in the Hiring Process. On the cover page of the document, change the name Michelle Hulett to all uppercase letters. Select all of the text in the document after the title page, starting with Understanding the Personal Interview on Page 2. Apply Justified alignment to the selected text and change the line spacing to 1.15. Modify the Heading 2 style so that the font color is Dark Red (under Standard Colors). Points Possible

On Page 2, select the five lines near the top of the page, beginning with Pre-interview Impression and ending with Trait Configurations. Create a bulleted list using the four-pointed star bullets (). The four-pointed star bullet can be found in Wingdings font group (character code 170).

Select the first paragraph in the Introduction section that begins with Personal interviewing continues, and then set the left and right indentations to 0.6" each. Insert a box border around the indented paragraph with a 1 1/2 pt line width. Change the paragraph shading to Blue, Accent 1, Lighter 80%. On Page 2, apply the 1. 2. 3. numbering format to the three indented paragraphs in the PreInterview Impressions section beginning with The Pre-interview Phase. On Page 3, select the second and third paragraphs in The Unfavorable Information Effect section (beginning with A number of reasons and Kanouse and Hanson). Display these paragraphs as two columns with a line between the columns. On Page 2, on the line above the text Figure 1: Diboye's Interview phases, insert the downloaded image phases.jpg.
