Whats Your Calling?

Just one life. This is all any one of us has to offer. How can it be used for the greatest glory of God and the greatest blessing to men? How can we be as useful as possible and as effective as possible as Christians? -Michael Griffiths This summer God has been at work confirming our calling and narrowing our focus. Yes, just because we have obeyed Gods call to missions doesnt mean we stop listening for His call on our daily lives and our ministry. During the summer, Josh felt a confirmation about being involved in the university ministry while he was on the survey trip to the Democratic Republic of Congo and Mbarara, Uganda. There are huge possibilities to reach out and disciple university students in this area of the world and it is exciting to be a part of it. We have to be honest, though, and admit a bit of struggle in discerning Joshs call. This year God has given Josh a renewed passion for the ministry at Heritage International School. The ministry is each week for our team at our prayer meetings. It is a sweet and blessed thing when your passions, gifts, and calling all line up! Kelly is already enjoying this role He has called her to. Thats where we are. So, what about you? Whats your calling? How does God want you to bless the nations? We would love to pray for you in your circle of influence and kingdom building. Send an e-mail to or leave a comment on our Hand in Hand with the Hallahans facebook page. Tell us what you are doing to bless the nations and we will pray for you weekly. And if you are struggling with your own calling, wed love to pray for you in that too!

bursting at the seams, and the possibilities of growth are incredibly evident. We are praying that we will simply remain obedient to Jesus and not put our ideas or anyone elses in front of Jesus ideas about our future. Please pray with us for discernment and Gods plans for our next term. And as Kelly waited on the Lord for a specific calling this year, she sensed God calling her to create oasis in a variety of ministries. She feels called to make our home an oasis for our family and our many guests. And she has a passion to create an oasis

How to Find Your Role in Missions

As you consecrate yourself to God to use in any way He sees fit, try one or more of these four World Christian roles on for size. One size does not fit all, and you may end up wearing several different ones at various stages of your life. In a sense, these are simply four habits to develop in your life, but ask the Lord whether your primary role is as a goer, sender, welcomer, or mobilizer. -Steve Shadrach, The Fuel and The Flame Other ways to find your role: Ask Gods guidance. Say yes to what He calls you to. Practice obedience in small things. Figure out what you love to do and how He has gifted you. Pray over a world map and ask Him for an assignment.

Prayer Requests

There is a new and refreshing atmosphere at Heritage International School this year an air of expectancy and hope that we didnt sense as strongly last year. Pray for revival! Pray for wisdom and resources to plant ministries on other university campuses. Pray as Josh and the other leaders strengthen the internship program, explore other universities, and dream big for Gods kingdom. Pray for our boys that God will have freedom to work in their young lives. Pray that we will have all the wisdom and grace we need to parent them well.

Watch Us Grow

Our boys are growing like weeds. Seth is now in junior kindergarten and Caleb is in kindergarten! Our house has expanded and contracted to hold seven volunteers and six visitors since May. And our team here in Uganda is growing! The Leisures and Stanfields arrived on the field in August! Josh and I continue to grow in our passion for the work that needs to be done here. God continues to clarify our calling, individually and as a family. But there is so much to be done. Is God calling you to partner with Him here in Uganda, either short term or long term or from the States? Let us know how He wants your role in this ministry to grow! 3783 East State Road 18, P.O.
