Newsletter September 2012

FITNESS IDEAS NEWS Spring is officially here and I dont know about you but it feels as though those winter days are behind us. The days feel a little bit brighter and warmer and with that it feels as though peoples moods have got brighter as well. Long winters tend to make me feel dull and blah so it is nice to have some brighter weather to cheer me up. The month of August saw some big challenges for Fitness Ideas with my new born son being sick and the need for me to change and cancel appointments at short notice. With him doing better it is an opportune time to say thank you to all my clients who changed their routine for me so I could be with Rhonda and Fergus. September plans to be a huge month for Fitness Ideas and although I have finished my work with Onslow College football, my work with North Wellington Under 19 football team is in full swing. The boys are currently competing in the Ivan England Tournament leading up to the North Island national tournament being held over Labour weekend. September will also see the continuation of working with my 12 week challenge clients. Kerri and Celeste will be finishing their 12 week challenge in the first few weeks of the September however there will be 6 more clients whose challenge continues over the entire month. With winter gone and spring here there is no better time than to evaluate your health and fitness goals. Like a lot of people winter can be time of hibernation so why not use this time now to get cracking and achieve those health and fitness goals before the Christmas season is upon us. With the months flying past now is the time to ask yourself the question do Ii want to look and feel the same this time next year?. If the answer is no then book in for a free no obligation meeting to discuss how best to hit those health and fitness targets. This month Im meeting with a business mentor to see how I can improve my business to best service my clients needs and at the same time I plan on using September to start implementing my own health and fitness goals. August also saw Fitness Ideas being involved in a little bit of fundraising for the Cure Kids charity. Putting my hair on the line, Fitness Ideas managed to raise over $1,500 for the charity. Some days Ive noticed the cold more than others and there has been mixed reviews about my new look (one person said I reminded them of Freddy Kruger). However on a serious note, it was great to do something small for a great cause, so to everyone that pledged money thank you very much.

You may remember in July we ran the baby sweep stake with the winner getting some movie vouchers. Well as you can see in the picture below, Moana was very happy to receive her vouchers and I know she will put them to good use. Congratulations once again Moana.

Also congratulations to the North Wellington under 19 football team. As mentioned earlier they are currently competing in the Ivan England football tournament. Last week they played their first game of the tournament and came from behind to grab a 3-all draw. What is great about this result is they drew against Lower Hutt who were the Under 19 North Island champions from last year. As usual so many of Fitness Ideas clients are doing some great things and getting some great results. A big mention to Carolyn, Bridget, Leigh, Judy, Karen, Tania, Bev, Mike, Kerry, Lisa and Bella who have all been working hard to meet their goals. If you have a challenge or goal (however big or small) that you want to achieve then let me know and I will put together a plan that will help you succeed.

Please feel free to share any thoughts you may have either by contacting me on email at fitnessideas@hotmail.com or visit me on my Facebook page.
Something you want to see more of in the newsletter or something new you would like covered, then drop me a line and let me know!

Finally a big good luck to everyone competing in the NZIFBB bodybuilding show which will be held in the middle of September.

RECIPE OF THE MONTH This month I thought I would share a gluten free recipe. Gluten free seems to get a bad rap for being boring and tasteless, so I thought I would share a recipe that is full of taste and healthy as well.

Be sure to follow me on: http://shaunsfitnessideas.wordpress.com CLIENT ROUND UP Firstly a big congratulations to the Onslow 15A football team who won their final against Wellington College 3-1. Wellington College had beaten Onslow twice through the year so it was great to see the boys pull out a fantastic win in the final. Also huge congratulations to the First 11 boys and girls team who finished a place higher than last year. Finally at the time of typing this newsletter the second 11 team were playing in the final in their grade. A big good luck to the Onslow First 11 football team who are off to Wanganui to compete in the North Island football tournament in the first week of September, be sure to do your coaches, school and yourselves proud.
