About the Aeroscraft

For over 25 years, Aeros has advanced the conventional Airship and Aerostat technologies, providing transformation technology and products that exceed our customers expectations. Traditionally, Airships & Hybrid Airships have effectively provided a broad range of services which include: surveillance, broadcasting and communication missions at low operating costs. However, they have considerable limitations in transporting cargo because they require ballast (water or dirt) to keep them grounded once cargo is offloaded. Using ballast is a disadvantage if these resources are not available. Moreover, they have a nonrigid structure which is prone to puncture. Aeros is building a revolutionary transport air vehicle called the Aeroscraft. The Aeroscraft is designed for heavy lift transport for oversized, large wind turbine component that will overcome all previous logistic limitations hindered by other transport modes. The Aeroscraft is unique because of its Internal Ballast Control System, allowing it to offload cargo without a ballast or the need to land. The Aeroscraft can control lift at all stages with its Vertical Takeoff & Landing (VTOL) capabilities, and can lower down slung maximum payload while in aerial hover-mode. It is also built with rigid, carbon composite shell, making it sturdier and better able to carry payloads. The Aeroscraft needs no hangar facility, airport or excessive maintenance. The Aeroscraft is the pinnacle solution for large component, heavy lift transport.

CURRENT TRANSPORTATION CHALLENGES

Multiple modes (road, rail, and water) are often used for a single project. Yet the industry is facing significant transportation problems. If left un-addressed, these problems will create obstacles to achieving the wind energy industrys full potential. ABOUT THE AEROSCRAFT

The Aeroscraft is a new type of rigid variable buoyancy air vehicle designed to control lift in all stages of air or ground operations including the ability to off-load payload without re-ballasting. The key features of the Aeroscraft include the rigid structure, vertical takeoff and landing capabilities at maximum payload, and the ability to operate at low speed, in hover, and from unprepared surfaces.
