are made of corrugated sheet metal and so they easily fly off in hurricane winds. I have no news about what has happened in the rural areas where the chapels and the other schools are. There has been no loss of life in the area of Dessalines, but hundreds of houses are without roofs. We will probable have a second collection on September 15-16 to help deal with the emergency. Please pray for the people. Father Bernie

We thank you for being so very generous to your parish. Your generosity allows this parish to grow and to respond to the needs of many. Collection August 25-26: $13,424.28 ===================================== DEAR FRIENDS OF HAITI,
I spoke to Sister Christine last evening and Father MarcEdy sent me an email this morning, August 26. Hurricane Isaac has caused a lot of damage to the Dessalines area and to the parish: part of the roof of St. Claires school was ripped off by the winds, parts of the security wall around the school has fallen, many trees are down on all the parish properties. At Claire Lumire School several of the roofs are gone (the preschool building, the house for the guardians, the trade school, etc.). All of these roofs
