For the Shabbat Table

Here are some questions to ask your child(ren) on Shabbat:
1. Can you say/sing the names of all the parshiyot in the Torah? 2. Who is in Avra(ha)ms family tree? 3. What three things was Avra(ha)m told to leave? 4. What do you think is harder: leaving your country, your family or your home?

1. Use the bathroom and get a drink before class

starts. (We want to minimize bathroom trips in the middle of class.) 2. Put any H.W. that might be due on my desk. 3. Get their materials (workbooks, pencils, etc.) from their cubbies and have a seat. 4. Do machberet work. When class starts we (8:15-8:30): 1. Take attendance.

2. Say the Pledge of Allegiance.

The Machberet (Notebook/Journal)

Students keep a machberet (notebook/journal) every day. They start by writing the taarich (Hebrew date). Then they answer different prompt questions (all in Hebrew) such as:

1. What is the weather?

2. What are you wearing? 3. What do you love to do on Rosh Hashana?
