Module 1 TEXT SET: Chinese Traditions/ Culture Initial post due 9/10, final posts due 9/17

After completing the Literature Circle assignment #1, with the assigned book Henry and the Kite Dragon, I really was encouraged to focus primarily on Chinese Culture and their Traditions for creating this text set. I began searching on Google, Amazon, and even went to the local Barnes and Nobel to explore. I wanted to focus primarily on childrens books that could be used in a range of grades, but mainly Kindergarten. I choose Kindergarten because it is the grade level I am currently in for my Senior 1 Internship and also is the grade I wish to teach after graduating. After exploring I put together this text set of 5 different books that I found outstanding reads! In this text set below you will see the books title and author, front cover image, summary, grade level suggestion, and also a brief statement of how it connects to the original Literature Circle assignment book and Chinese traditions! Enjoy, I hope these books are books that you will enjoy, but also will give your classroom a variety of different ways to teach about Chinese Traditions and Chinese Cultures!

This relates toward the Literature Circle book, Henry and the Kit Dragon because it is written about a young boy of the Chinese culture, but another thing that I found to be compared to the other book was the aspects of fear. In the book Henry and the Kite Dragon the boy was afraid of the mean Tony who threw rocks at his kites and played in the park. In this particular book the young boy was fearful of dancing and messing up.
