Read the texts and answer the questions.
Elif
I come from Turkey but now I live in Hackney in London. I like living in Hackney because I have a lot
of Turkish friends here, and my sister and her family live here too. I don’t like the cold weather in
London and I don’t like the dirty streets. But there are a lot of Turkish shops and all the people are
very friendly. I can buy all the Turkish food I like. So I really like living in Hackney.

Ahmed
I come from Yemen but now I live in Glasgow. It’s a big city in the south of Scotland. I like the
Scottish people but I can’t understand them when they speak. I live on the fourteenth floor of a
big block of flats. I feel lonely because I don’t know any people from Yemen here. I don’t like the
weather in Scotland. It’s very cold in winter and it often snows. I don’t like living in Glasgow. I
would like to move to London. I have a lot of friends there.

Jing
I’m from China but now I live in Liverpool. It’s a big city in the northwest of England. I like living in
Liverpool. I love music and I often go to pubs at the weekend and listen to music. There are lots
of beautiful buildings beside the river and I like walking there at weekends. There is also a famous
football team, but I’m not interested in football. There are a lot of Chinese people here and I have
a lot of friends.
