CONTENTS: 6 Math Mats, pair of dice, 12 each of the following manipulatives: pennies, red poms, candles, pasta shells and bug erasers. SET UP: Choose 1 math mat and it’s corresponding manipulatives. Lay the mat and manipulatives on the table. Decide which of the 3 ways of play (see below) you will be playing. Use 1 dice for counting and 2 dice for addition and subtraction.

COUNTING
Begin with 1 dice. Roll and place that many manipulatives on the math mat. To make the counting more challenging, use both dice.

ADDITION
Use 2 dice. Roll. Add the number of each dice together. Put that many manipulatives on the math mat. Tip: When playing, encourage your child to make a math sentence (ex: 3+5=8) on a piece of paper.

SUBTRACTION
Use 2 dice. Roll. Subtract the largest number from the smallest. Put that many manipulatives on the math mat. Tip: When playing, encourage your child to make a math sentence (ex: 8-5=3) on a piece of paper.
