Where:
U.S. Department of Education Caribbean Training Facility (located on the American University Campus-Bayamon). The directions to the U.S. Department of Education Caribbean Training Facility from the San Juan airport are below.
Take exit to Rd. 26 (to San Juan). Go straight about 6 miles. Take exit to Rd 22 (Expreso De Diego – Minillas Tunnel). After you pass the tunnel, about 3 miles ahead, Rd. 22 will split. Follow 22 to the right, towards Bayamon. About 6 miles ahead, there is a .35 cents toll. Go through it. After the toll, go straight about 5 more miles where you will see on your right hand side a big shopping center (Rio Hondo). The exit says “Avenida Comerio.” DO NOT TAKE THIS EXIT; this is just to let you know you are going in the right direction) Take the following exit to Rd. 866. The exit is identified as “Arena” (Exit is a loop) After taking the exit, bear to the right until you reach a traffic light, turn right at the light. Go straight pass the second traffic light. At the third light, which should be Rd. #2, turn left, go straight approximately 2 miles. American University is on the right hand side, right across from the Bayamon Oeste Shopping Mall. Note: In light of the events of September 11, 2001, all individuals participating in Department of Education (ED) sponsored activities must check in with the campus security guard posted at the campus entrance. Attendees must present proper identification before the guard will direct attendees to parking and the ED Caribbean Training Facility.
