PERSONAL PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE 2 – PPP2

LEVEL 04/05 PROGRESS EVALUATION
The following form is designed to focus your self-evaluation, personal reflection and design strategy planning for the second year of the course. This should help you to identify necessary areas of interest, working practices, aims and ambitions when planning your return in September. More importantly it should help you identify specific issues that you need to address, skills you intend to develop and creative/professional aspects of design practice that are relevant to you as an individual. As this is form focuses on you as an individual you may find you need to add certain criteria, skills or areas that are relevant to you and your aims. There are spaces left for you to add content. Your evaluation will form the basis of discussion during your first tutorial in the second year. Your response to this task should be posted to your PPP blog and labelled ‘PROGRESS EVALUATION 04/05’

Learn techniques to make the finished outcome of my work look more professional. I will do this by continuing to find and evaluate work I think works well and putting more consideration into the stock I choose Improve presentation skills & PowerPoint skills by continuing to present and practicing beforehand. Contribute more productively in group crits by referring to helpful questions that we have looked at in COP sessions Manage my time more professionally by splitting time wisely between work, social and domestic Develop more skills that relate to web design and screen by incoroporating new software into the work I produce Learn after effects/ moving image software skills to increase employability and design skills To have a more concise and coherent blog so that anyone can understand what I am looking at, I will do this by being more considerate about what I blog and what I evaluate Spend more time working by hand and less time working digitally so that I know the idea that I’m going to produce is the best solution to the problem Develop a further understanding of typeface design, by being introduced to typographer and designing some new fonts Read more design based books to gain a better understanding of problem solving and design in general.
