us at a positive high for the rest of our holiday. Travelling from Bandhavgarh to Kanha was a ride full of flavours from the heart of India...driving over the undulating roads cut around the hills I could smell the crisp fresh air of the fields ripe with the wheat to be harvested, a clear blue sky and the numerous villages which were so very soul stirring....a sight one hardly ever witnesses while in the hum drum of Delhi and which makes you realize how disconnected you are from your inner beings. What I didn’t realize was that the experience of my stay in Chitvan at Kanha would blot out the previous three days at Bandhavgarh in one clear swipe. We were welcomed and shown to our suite in Jal Block by Mr.Ashwani Agarwal, the General Manager, a thorough gentleman and a perfect host, who shared wonderful tales about the forest and his work thereabouts with us, and amidst all his schedules always found time to converse, share, guide and make us feel at home over the duration of our stay. The suite was furnished very tastefully, ethnic, elegant, understated, yet rich....the views from all around were amazing....a taste of Kanha right outside our room... the rich jungle could be seen and experienced by just drawing the curtains. I was initially flummoxed by hundreds of tiny lights I could see in the evening amongst the bushes , only to realize that it was the “jugnus” that we had only heard about in granny’s tales and not an “asura” lurking in there, the thought courtesy the book “Prince of Ayodhya” which I was reading, where Lord
