Ch 2, [cable, bpdc, (fpdc, bpdc) twice] 3 times, cable, do not join. (32 sts) Rnd 51: (half row) sc across 32 chs, join with a sl st to the next fpdc. (32) (Yes, this is different from the standard mechanics of crochet, but since this part of the heel flexes up at almost a 45-degree angle, it does work and keeps the heel rows even with the pattern.)

Rnd 52: Ch 2, Move st marker to this st to denote the new beginning of rows. [Cable, bpdc, (fpdc, bpdc) twice] 3 times, cable, (begin working around posts of the scs here) [bpdc, (fpdc, bpdc) twice, cable] 3 times, bpdc, (fpdc, bpdc) twice, join with a sl st to the beg ch-2. (64) Rnds 57-70: Repeat rows 52 –55 (or until desired length is achieved, more yardage will be required). (64) Fasten off and weave in ends. After-thought Heel Join yarn any where in the heel opening. Sc around, placing 2 sc dec at each corner of the heel. Work in a spiral until the two long sides of the heel come together, or about 13 rounds. Sl st the opening closed. Fasten off and weave in ends.
