Dr. Manmohan Singh
The Hon’ble Prime Minister,
India.

Respected Sir,

Regarding your speech as quoted, "…. As I stand here and look at our tricolor fly high
and fly majestically, my thoughts go to what I have said at these ramparts in the last
three years. I have, over these three years, outlined a new vision of a caring India:

An India that is united despite its many diversities.

An India that is not divided by caste, creed or gender......"

But the real scenario is quite different. Presently, what is happening in Kashmir over
giving 100 acre land to the Amarnath Shrine Board is very humiliating to the Hindus
and Indians. As Kashmir is a Muslim-majority area they are not willing to allow any
non-Muslim any facility. Do the Kashmiri-Muslims think they are outside India? Then
how can they expect equal behaviour from the Hindus from rest part of India? Do they
want to take us back to the era of pre-Independence?

We are observing that our government, both central and state and all political parties
are playing communal cards for vote politics. If we want to establish a democratic, civil
society in a country where people of different religious faiths live together, the political
system has
to be secular, the legal system has to be secular, the economic system has to be secular,
and the education system has to be secular. In other words, secularism must be the
practiced norm of the society .

It is the high time to prove that Congress is a secular party in the true sense by
transferring the land to Amarnath Shrine Board. The non-Muslims, specially the
Hindus regard Congress Party as a pro-Muslim one. Over years the Congress party has
divided the nation on basis of caste and creed; two parallel laws prevail in India on the
basis of religion; Sachar Committee was formed for the development of Muslim
community only. We consider it unconstitutional. Do you consider your party and the
activities of UPA government to be a secular in true sense?

We have great regard for you and you can save the country from the upcoming horrible
civil war. Now we are seeing the Hindus are uniting irrespective of their political
identities. The Hindus are feeling insecure in the hands of the so-called secular parties.
The Muslims do not consider India as their motherland by the doctrine of their religion.
From Guru Nanak Dev to Baba Ambedkar including many scholars like Rabindranath
Tagore, Swami Vivekananda, Mahatma Gandhi and others in our country and abroad
realized that Islam is intolerable towards other religion and cannot associate peacefully
with people of other religions. To justify my statement we’ve published a book
compiling the quotations of the great people throughout the world, which I am sending
to you.

We again appeal to you to kindly take the right steps to save us and our nation.

Thank you,
Yours sincerely,
Sailen Basu
