The Draft Byron Local Environmental Plan 2012 (LEP) and Byron Shire Local Environmental Study 2008 is on exhibition for a period of 60 days from 24 September to 23 November 2012. The formal public exhibition documents can be viewed at Councils Administration Ofces, Station Street, Mullumbimby between 9.00am and 4.00pm weekdays. Information is also available at community access points around the Shire or on Councils website at www.byron.nsw.gov.au. Submissions may be submitted online, mailed to the General Manager, Byron Shire Council, PO Box 219, Mullumbimby or emailed to submissions@byron.nsw. gov.au Emailed submissions to this address only will be acknowledged. Councils website www.byron.nsw.gov.au has a range of information to assist you to gain a better understanding of the draft LEP. Here you will nd plain English fact sheets and explanatory material on the key parts of the draft LEP and how it compares with Byron LEP 1988. To nd out more speak with a council planner at one of the information sessions - for dates and locations see below; or make an appointment by calling 02 6626 7126. Appointments are available in person at the Mullumbimby ofce or by phone, Monday to Friday between 9.00am -2.00pm. At an information session you can speak with a council planner to obtain information on how the draft LEP affects your property. You can attend anytime between the designated hours. There will be at least 3 planners on hand to answer enquires on a one-on-one basis. The time allocated to discuss your issues with a planner will be dependant on how many other people are waiting to ask questions, but allow at least 15 minutes. There is no formal group presentation, just the opportunity to read the display material and talk to a planner. ENVIRONMENTAL PLANNING & ASSESSMENT ACT, 1979 Public Exhibition of Development Applications
Council is in receipt of the following Development Application(s). Byron Shire Council is the Consent Authority. Any person may view the application(s) and the documents accompanying the application(s) at Councils Information and Enquiry Counter, Station Street, Mullumbimby from 9.00am to 4.00pm, Monday to Friday (public holidays excepted). Any submission needs to be received by 4.00pm on the last day of the exhibition period. Any person may make a written submission to the General Manager in relation to any of the development applications. Where the submission is by way of an objection the submission must set out the grounds of the objection. If you are making a submission you may be required to lodge, now or possibly in the future, a Political Donations and Gifts Disclosure Statement. It is your responsibility to ensure you meet your obligations to disclose reportable political donations and gifts. A failure to meet your obligations is an offence the penalty for which can include signicant nes and/or imprisonment. A Guideline providing detailed information on the disclosure obligations is available at www.byron.nsw.gov.au/political-donations or from Council. Council strongly urges you to read the Guideline and satisfy yourself that you are complying with your disclosure obligations prior to lodging a submission. NOTIFICATION OF HERBICIDE USE Various Parks and Cemeteries in Byron Shire


Council wishes to advise that spraying of the selective herbicide Camba-M to control Bindii and other lawn weeds will be undertaken at Bangalow, Mullumbimby and Byron Bay cemeteries, Federal Park, Waterlily Park and Suffolk Park sports elds. Application will occur very early in the morning during the fortnight beginning 10 October 2012, depending on weather conditions. Signage will be posted at the locations on the day of application. IMMUNISATION CLINICS
Free Immunisation clinics are held in conjunction with the North Coast Area Health Service each month at: Byron Bay Community Health, Shirley Street, Byron Bay (next to Hospital) Thursday 11 October 2012 (2nd Thursday of each month), 1.30pm-3.30pm; Brunswick Heads Community Centre, South Beach Road, Brunswick Heads Thursday 25 October 2012, (4th Thursday of each month), 1.30pm-3.30pm. The following vaccines are provided: Infanrix-Hexa (diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, hepatitis B, HIB & polio combination); Prevenar (pneumococcal); Rotarix (rotavirus); Priorix (measles, mumps, rubella combination); Meningococcal C; Hib; Varilrix (varicella); Infanrix-IPV (diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio combination for 4 yr olds).
